Anchorage

(2023)

Two brothers attempt to drive a trunk full of opioids from Florida to Alaska to cash in big in the Land of Gold. A split-second act of violence somewhere in the California desert derails their trip and sets them on a crash course with tragedy.

Anchorage was my feature film directorial debut, that I executive produced, directed, and starred in alongside Dakota Loesch who wrote, produced, and starred in the film.

The film was shot chronologically in five days with a cast and crew of ten people with a total budget of $50,000 that went on to win 11 awards and 10 nominations at 17 film festivals around the world.

After its festival success we partnered with Discordia and our production company The Malt Shop Pictures to put together a four city theatrical tour that started in Los Angeles, then to Chicago, New York, and finally ending in London playing for two weeks at Curzon Cinemas across the city.

Anchorage released in VOD in North America & the UK on September 11th.

This film did not have a PR team, Marketing team, or a Festival Submissions Manager. All of the success of this film was done independently, self funded, and spear headed by Scott Monahan, Dakota Loesch, and their team.
